The purpose of this Construction Logistics Plan (CLP) guidance is to ensure that CLPs of high quality are produced to minimise the impact of construction logistics on the road network. Well-planned construction logistics will reduce:
- Environmental impact: Lower vehicle emissions and noise levels
- Road risk: Improving the safety of road users
- Congestion: Reduced vehicle trips, particularly in peak periods
- Cost: Efficient working practices and reduced deliveries
The guidance deals specifically with the construction logistics element of the planning permission process and aims to support local borough guidance on CLPs and Transport Assessments (TAs).
CLP Guidance will help to ensure that TfL requirements are met and that planning applications can be reviewed and assessed comprehensively. The guidance is designed to integrate with all activity undertaken throughout the planning process and construction programme.
