The LERS is an industry led, voluntary initiative dedicated to recording, reporting and reducing carbon emissions. It allows the UK logistics sector to publicly report its contribution towards national carbon reduction targets.

The scheme is free to join, and open to all companies with at least one commercial vehicle. The scheme currently represents over 130 companies.

Members of the scheme provide their annual fuel, vehicle kilometres travelled data and vehicle fleet data. This is then aggregated to report a carbon footprint for the scheme each year.
